International Women's Day is nearly upon us and the Power of Women Festival 2023 is here to celebrate!

We are excited to invite you and your family to the Power of Women Ellington Park Family Festival,  11am-4pm Saturday 11th March, FREE.  This year's festival promises to be a fun-filled event with plenty of activities for all ages.

We will kick off the day with our annual procession taking the festival theme Joy and Celebration and we would love for you to join us!

This year we teamed up with Zoe Murphy @MargateGirl and her quilting squad to create beautiful celebration quilts in local community groups.  The quilting squad made LOTS of quilts and we need your help to showcase these wonderful community works of art by parading them in the procession before they are donated to the special care baby unit at QEQM.

We will be meeting at 11am at Ellington Park Cafe for the procession at 11.30-11.50am.  My colleague, Jemma Channing, will be managing the procession and will be able to help as needed. The procession will be led by Ramsgate Mayor Raushan Ara and Kent Roller Derby and local community groups.

Following the parade, there will be a range of exciting activities and entertainment throughout the day, including live music, birds of prey, hot food stall, dance and drama performances, games, ice-cream and birds of prey!

This event is a great opportunity for families to come together and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Ellington Park while taking part in a range of fun activities that champion gender equality and celebrate International Women's Month.

We encourage you to spread the word and invite your friends and family to join in the fun.  Feel free to use the informational flyer attached to share with your network.

There are lots of varied events happening this week and throughout March from we'd love to see you at some of them!  You can explore these events on our website.

Our festival opening ceremony is at Broadstairs Pavillion 6.30-10pm on Wednesday 8th March and there are still a few free tickets available.

Thank you for your support, we look forward to welcoming you and enjoying a month of celebration and community spirit!
