It is a lovely school with a welcoming feel and a positive atmosphere. Much more visible leadership team. A feeling of pride in the school. As parents we feel really proud that our son comes to such a great school, which we knew was fabulous whether OFSTED told us or not! The trips that Mrs Glover & Mrs Sear have been putting together are a fantastic idea and hope they continue. I am extremely happy with Daniel's progress since starting at the Pre-School. He seems to have made a lovely group of friends and enjoys coming in every day. I can't wait to see him progress further. Senior & middle leaders know the strengths of their staff & deploy them accordingly. More tailored support for different groups of learners has been a really big & positive change. Thank you! The Headteacher has a clear vision for the school & her ambition for it to continue to make improvements is shared by her senior team & staff.

Welcome

Welcome to Cliftonville Primary and Pre-School

We are delighted that you are interested in our wonderful school. This website aims to give you a taster of everything we have to offer your child as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

The school is led by Claire Whichcord and, on December 1st 2013, became an Academy working with Dane Court Grammar School, King Ethelbert School and Hartsdown Academy.  These schools are formally joined to make a group known as the Coastal Academies Trust.

As an outstanding school we aim to inspire children to achieve more than they ever believed possible.

Our deeply rooted school values (Independence, Safe and Settled, Resilience, Respect, Aspiration, Enjoying Learning and Community Unity) provide the foundations for each child to be the best they can be and thrive in a changing world.

As a very large school, catering for an increasingly diverse community, it is our responsibility to enable each and every individual to achieve their best, both academically and personally. This diversity brings a richness to our school which we celebrate and capitalise on. Reading and vocabulary development are at the core of our curriculum to enable children from all backgrounds to achieve academic success. We pride ourselves on the broad and balanced curriculum offered, with a focus on continuing to develop key skills in English and mathematics.

Wellbeing is at the core of what we do every day and this is reflected in our school values as the centre to all we do at Cliftonville Primary and Pre-school. We commit to making it our mission to promote positive wellbeing for all our pupils, staff and the wider community including parents and carers. We recognise that without positive wellbeing we cannot reach our full potential. Therefore, we aim to educate and support our whole school community on the importance of wellbeing and mental health, ensuring it is everyone’s responsibility to care for one another. Through our innovative ‘Wellbeing Hub’ we will provide mental health support, understanding and intervention for pupils and parents ensuring a holistic approach. Our staff are our greatest resource and so we ensure that all staff have a supportive network and feel they are listened, to and valued at all times.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find any information you are looking for.  If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.  We are always very pleased to show prospective families around the school; please contact the School Business Manager & Headteacher's PA, Mrs Alison Blake, to make an appointment.
