  • School Prints Project with Turner Contemporary

    Thu 24 Jun 2021

Turner Contemporary have been working with The Hepworth, Wakefield to reimagine the ‘School Prints’ project which first started in the 1940s with the aim of engaging school children in contemporary art. Through this project, we have been gifted a set of limited edition prints which now have pride of place in the ‘old’ hall.

Y5 pupils have had the wonderful opportunity to participate in this project with Turner Contemporary and produce some artwork of their own, inspired by these prints. This work has been on display this week for the rest of the school to enjoy and be inspired by. We want family and friends to also have this opportunity so we have produced a virtual tour of the exhibition for all to enjoy.

Wait! There’s more! Some of the Y5 pupils have also produced online tutorials to share with the rest of the school so that they too can produce artwork inspired by the prints. Over the next 3 weeks, all classes will be taking part in exciting art activities and there will be a whole school art exhibition in the ‘new’ hall at the end of term. Watch out for the next virtual tour…..

  • Letter to all parents about the new friends of Cliftonville PTFA

    Fri 11 Jun 2021

    Friends of Cliftonville Primary School

    11th June 2021

    Dear Parents,

National PTA week and first Friends of Cliftonville Primary AGM

We’re very excited to announce that the Friends of Cliftonville Primary will be launching in June.

Our newly formed PTFA will be working to support the wellbeing and education of all the children at our school and we hope you will get involved!

A small group of parents and teachers have been working to set up the PTFA and at the first AGM you will have an opportunity to vote for the committee who represent the association for the coming year.

Therefore, the first AGM of the Friends of Cliftonville Primary will be held on Friday 2nd July 2021 (venue tbc).

During National PTA week (21st - 25th June 2021) we are planning some activities to introduce the PTA and we will be on hand to answer questions all week. If you would like to nominate yourself for a committee role you will be able to do so during this week or if you would just like to get involved as a member volunteer this is a great time to meet us.

The PTFA hopes to play an active role in the school community and all parents are automatically members of the PTFA. Therefore, we hope you will show your support by attending the AGM and getting involved with our events!

If you would like any further information about being a Committee Member, please speak to Clara Rioseco (CRioseco@cliftonvilleprimary.co.uk) in the school office.

Once our committee has been elected by the members we will apply for charity status and will operate independently from September 2021.

    Kind Regards,

    Jo Ragozzino

  • EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) application deadline

    Mon 07 Jun 2021

With the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) application deadline (30th June) fast approaching, we would like to remind parents, families, young people and staff that if they are an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, they and their family members may be eligible to apply to the Settlement Scheme.

It is crucial that eligible parents apply to the Scheme themselves and check whether they need to do so on behalf of their children. Eligible children are required to have an application in their own right and no child of any age is covered by a parent’s application to the EUSS. There’s more information on this here on GOV.UK

To provide additional guidance, a very clear EUSS leaflet has been produced by the University of Liverpool, in partnership with the Home Office. It has been designed with children in mind and is intended to support both children and parents with information to help them apply to the EUSS. A set of accompanying FAQs are available too. This leaflet and other EUSS resources are available to encourage eligible parents to apply on behalf of themselves and their children. A list of organisations providing additional EUSS guidance and information is available here.

Applications to the EUSS are free and can be made online at www.gov.uk/eusettlementscheme, where you can also find out more information about how to apply.
