We are lucky to have a local author come to Cliftonville next Thursday for World Book Day. Paul Deslandes will be meeting with children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. See the information below about his book.
Should you wish to purchase a signed copy of this book for your children, to enjoy at home, you can do this in advance by visiting www.thegardenmonster.com. This may be your preferred option, to avoid any queues at the end of the day. Alternatively, I will have plenty of copies available after school.
HOW TO ORDER
Should you wish to purchase a copy after my visit, the coupon code will still be available to use and your child’s book can still be delivered to them at the school.

Dear Parent/Carer
Introducing the Emotional Wellbeing Team at Cliftonville Primary School
Cliftonville Primary School is very excited about our brand new partnership with NELFT and Kent with the Emotional Wellbeing Team (EWT). The Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners, who are part of the EWT, are hoping to get to know you and your child over the coming weeks and months, offering support when needed and finding out your ideas about how we can all work together to support the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children at Cliftonville Primary School.
For more information about what we offer please see our leaflets available at school about the Emotional Wellbeing Team. You can also find out more by watching this short animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duXLsp5wFRE.
What we will offer at Cliftonville Primary School?
Your child may be included in whole school initiatives, for example, assemblies and classroom-based activities that raise awareness about emotional wellbeing and mental health. The EWT will be offering a selection of workshops focusing on different aspects of wellbeing for both children and parents (e.g., understanding your child’s behaviour, helping your child with worries). Later in the year, the team will be offering support to children and/or their parents/carers who may be experiencing difficulties such as low mood or worries. This could be 1 to 1, or in a group.
If you would like to discuss any of the above information, please contact the Senior Mental Health Lead Mrs Frith (Assistant Head) or SENCO Paula Standen.
We hope that this information is helpful to you. We are very much looking forward to working together.
Yours sincerely
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Furr and Sarah Johnson

Next week, children will be focusing on being safe online. Each year group will be involved in some way and creating a safer internet story or film - we look forward to seeing them. This link may also help parents at home with discussions about online safety.

"Last week we celebrated International Puzzle Day with an opportunity to create our own puzzles. Children in the preschool were busy following tracks and trails and learning about The Gruffalo story. Years 1 and 2 made some colourful class jigsaw puzzles, showing their fantastic cutting skills and working really well as a team. Word searches on a range of topics kept years 3 and 4 busy for the afternoon as they checked their spellings in a dictionary. Years 5 and 6 focused on inventing mazes in lots of different ways, working collaboratively and following suggested guidelines. Great fun was had and there was a real buzz of enjoyment at creating our own puzzles."
