Year R Nativity
Tue 20 Dec 2016The children took part in a beautiful traditional re-telling of the Nativity story. They just looked amazing in their costumes and their singing and acting was a joy! Thank you to all the parents who helped with learning words and making donkey's ears!

KS1 Nativity
Tue 20 Dec 2016The children took part in a traditional re-telling of the Christmas story. They learnt lots of new songs and all enjoyed performing to their parents and families.

Attendance for the autumn term

Reading reward
Tue 20 Dec 2016The whole school focus on reading at home has been very successful. Mrs Wilson hosted a tea party for some children across the school who were nominated by their teachers as being extraordinarily good at reading at home. The cakes look scrummy!!!!

Forest School trip
Mon 19 Dec 2016Children from across Year 1, 2 and 3 had a fun-filled, four hours at the Manor House Forest School , based at Quex Park. They made Christmas decorations, toaasted marshmellows on an open fire and flew down the zip wire!

Christmas fayre
Mon 12 Dec 2016Thank you to everyone who was able to support the Christmas Fayre. Together we will have raised over a £1100 for school funds which will be spent equally across the year groups. A huge thank you to Mrs Glover and Mrs Sear for their amazing organisation of this event and to staff who helped make goodies and gifts!

Major maths success
Fri 25 Nov 2016This week at Cliftonville saw us celebrating some fantastic mathematical accomplishments. Not only were there examples of wonderful maths going on throughout the school by groups and individuals in the classrooms, but we also entered some very challenging competitions. Our 'Young mathematician of the year team' competed against St Faiths School in Ash for a place in the competition finals at Cambridge University. We do not know the outcome of this round of the competition yet, but we are immensely proud that our team got through to the regional finals - they are winners already.
Some of our year 5 and 6 children entered the 'Primary Maths Challenge' this week. They had to answer 25 very challenging questions in just 45 minutes. We had three Gold winners - Leah Reagan year 6, Amy Joseph year 6 and Oscar Dobson year 5. Pictured are all the bronze, silver and gold winners, but everyone who entered did brilliantly. The questions were really difficult and no one gave up. It was a fantastic example of the children living out our school values, aspiring high, being resilient, showing respect and enjoying learning.

Y6 Careers Day
Fri 25 Nov 2016Year 6 children at Cliftonville Primary School enjoyed a special careers morning this week where they had the chance to chat to people from a number of different professions and ask them more about their work. The annual event was arranged by Mrs Dale and involved the children moving around a carousel in small groups to interview fourteen visitors. There was a wide range of jobs represented including hairdressers, nurses, lawyers and gas engineers. All the visitors commented on the enthusiasm and politeness of the children and how well prepared they were in the questions that they asked. The session complemented the school’s work on raising aspirations.

Children in Need
Tue 22 Nov 2016Thank you to everyone for making this such an amazing day. It was so great to see school council taking on such a huge project across the school. Thank you for donations of cakes and for supporting all of the fund raising. Tammy Brown who works in our pre-school made an amazing cake which won the staff bake off...and Mrs Brunger won it in the raffle which followed! Zlata in pre-school won the colouring competition and can be seen below with Mrs Tuffs! We are still counting all the money but will definitely be sending off over £800.
