For the past 12 weeks Cliftonville Primary School’s Community Club has been organising ways of raising money for Thanet Homeless.

This week we have been having a variety of fund raising events like guess the name of the Bear and guess the amount of sweets in the jar. We have also been asking for clothes or tinned food donations and have been swamped by the response- Thank you so much for this.

This afternoon there has been a prize giving for the children from both Palm Bay and Cliftonville who have jointly been working on this project. The raffle draw with prizes including The Carlton Cinema tickets, Bugsy’s Bowling, the Hungry Horse restaurant and the Cupcake Café. The children have been absolutely fantastic. We are all feeling very proud of them and what they have achieved.

A big thank you must also go to Miss Carpenter who has supported and guided them in this project.

  • Maths in motion world finals

    Tue 20 Jun 2017

    Dear parents,

We have received the following message about the Maths in Motion final. If you wish to enjoy the final with us then the link below can be used.

“As I mentioned in one of my earlier emails, we are going to try and broadcast the whole of the afternoon session (from 1345 UK time) ‘live’ on our YouTube Channel so that schools, Mums, Dads, Grandmas, Grandads and anyone else who is interested in tuning in, can watch the proceedings from the Teacher’s Race right through to the World Final itself and the presentation of prizes. We will have a camera on the audience and you will also be able to watch the race (if it all works!) as it happens! The audio feed will be dependent on your internet connection but will be about 10 seconds behind the video. We are expecting people to be logged in worldwide for this event so there’s no pressure but we will do our best to make it a success!

    The link you need is:

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChQZvtAh7EHNBqvTPo_wYdg

and you will just need to follow the on screen link from there.

Would you please make sure that all your children and parents are aware of this as quite few of them have already written to us on our Facebook/Twitter feeds asking if we will be broadcasting. You can also tell them that we will have around 300 photos on our website, probably by next Friday evening, as a record of the day.

I think that this will be the last email I send to you all before the World Final so it just remains for me to wish you all a safe trip and we’ll see you in Gaydon where you may finish up as a World Champion (and so might your children!).

    With kindest regards,

    Brian
