We are very lucky to have a member of the Parliamentary Outreach team visiting the school to give a talk to our Y4 pupils about the role of parliament and how laws are made. This will fit in with their PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) topic for this term. The talk will be non-political, focusing only on parliamentary processes.
Parents from any year group are also invited to attend should they wish to find out more about how to influence decisions made in parliament. If you would like to attend, please register at the school office so that we have an idea of numbers.
Year 5 have been taking part in a project called 1927 Raree Tales where the children's wild words and perculiar pictures have been used to develop a short animation film which recreates a 'not-so-familiar' tale from the past. Cliftonville children have focused on the tale of Ali Baba. There are also 6 other tales recreated by other year 5 children from other Margate schools. You will see our children's film at the Cliffs, Northdown Road, CT9 2QN. The other films can be found in other locations- see picture of the map.
This would be a fun afternoon going to each location to see all the work!
We will be having our Christmas Fair on Thursday 12th December, 2.30pm– 4.30pm in the new hall. YR and Y1 will finish at 2.25pm. Please pick up as usual from your child's classroom. You can then join us in the new hall for the Christmas Fair.
Children not picked up at 2.25pm will be looked after by a member of staff until normal pick up time.
All other classes will finish at the normal time and picked up from the KS1 playground.
All other arrangements including extended day remain in place as normal.
Come and join us for some festival cheer and fun!
Today the children are having a great time in order to raise money for Children in need. Our final total will be announced soon but in the mean time have a look at the photos.
