I am pleased to report that our children have done incredibly well in the phonics assessment in Year 1 with 80% of children meeting the expected standard. This is above the national data for 2015 and represents outstanding progress from their starting points in Year R. It is a measure of the great teaching in Early Years, the work we have done to improve transition into Year 1 and the fantastic teaching they have had under Mr Sharpe's leadership. Thank you to our parents who have supported by attending workshops, playing phonics games sent home and coming to the information sessions. Individual pupil data will be reported at the end of term.
