When is early, too early?

Dear Parents

Safeguarding

We love children arriving promptly at school in the morning, but a large number of children are on the school grounds 'way too early', some as early as 8.10am.  This is mainly KS2 pupils some of whom are dropped off by parents, others who walk unaccompanied.  This morning there were nearly forty children before 8.25am.  Whilst they are generally very well behaved, there are no adults out there with them.

The school is not liable for any accidents or incidents that occur prior to our published supervision time of 8.40am.

We offer a very reasonable hour of childcare and food at £2 per day in breakfast club from 7.45am.  From Monday 12th October any pupil on the playground before 8.30am will be taken into breakfast club and you will be charged the daily fee for this service.

We encourage independence of pupils and want to support parents who are working, but this must be done in conjunction with our policies and practice.

Pupils can come onto the KS2 playground from 8.15am on Friday’s on the weeks when the Motiv8 sports club is running.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of this letter or to register your child for breakfast club, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Yours sincerely
