On Wednesday 5th March six School Councillors took a trip on the bus to the Thanet Council Chamber for the launch of the KM Green Champions initiative. At the event they learnt about the main traffic problems affecting Thanet schools (congestion and pollution) and had an opportunity to ask a lady who works for the Thanet District Council about these. They also learnt about the new Green Champions scheme and how they can promote it in our school. The children were fantastic ambassadors for our school as they listened keenly and asked intelligent questions when talking to Thanet councillor, Iris Johnston. They got to sit in the councillor's seats in the Chamber and use their special microphones to speak! Keep an eye out for all the fun things they will be leading at Cliftonville to promote green travel to school.
