Due to the current and changing situation regarding adults who are clinically extremely vulnerable, it may be that some teachers will be informed by NHS to stay at home. If this is the case, they will, in accordance with our remote learning digital strategy, be delivering live lessons from home. There will be two adults in the classroom physically to support the learning as the teacher delivers. We have already trialed this and it works well.
Remote Learning
Individuals self-isolating or in quarantine
In this instance, the SLT link for the year group will email you a document with links to online learning activities for each subject. These activities match the lessons/topics taught in school for the period that your child is at home. The majority of the lessons are on the Oak Academy website which was set up by the government to provide remote learning. The lessons consist of a video led by a teacher and an online quiz to complete at the end. If we do not have your email address, then we will telephone you to discuss the best way to share the information with you.
Class, year group or school closure
In this situation, teaching will take place via MS Teams. Work will be set in the form of teacher- recorded lessons and activities which children will be able to complete and submit online. Please see the video for guidance on how to access learning on MS Teams.
Monday 2nd November
Dear Parent and Carers,
Firstly, thank you for your support today in keeping your distance and wearing your masks. It was greatly appreciated by all staff and all parents.
Over the half term holidays we have had five members of staff who have tested positive for Covid-19. I have taken appropriate advice from Public Health England and due to the timings of events no further action is needed by the school- as it was during the half term holidays. I can assure you that there had been no contact with children or with other staff and the school has been thoroughly cleaned, as it would always be during the half term holidays. I will, of course, continue to keep you informed as we move through this term. The children’s health and safety is always paramount, as is it that of the whole community. Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe.
On Friday 13th it is 'Children in need' day. Children can come in, in non-school uniform on that day (feel free to add any Pudsey accessories!) a cashless system for donations will be set up and text out nearer to the time.
