The children absolutely loved their assemblies from local author and poet Sam Gayton this morning who came to tell us all about the exciting things that are happening at Dreamland for the Margate Bookie during half term. There are loads of events with a range of different authors and genres and all are totally free! The children loved joining in with Sam's poem and are desperate to "Take a lookie at Margate Bookie.com!" Have a look at their website and book your free tickets tonight!
On Friday 28th April we will be supporting and raising awareness of childhood cancer through wearing 'orange for Azaylia' . The Azaylia foundation was founded by the parents of Azaylia Diamond Cain who was 8 months old when she died of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in April 2021. In just over a year the foundation has committed over £700,000 pounds to advance early diagnosis and accelerate the availability of new treatments for childhood cancer in the UK, while at the same time supporting families having to pay for treatments not available via the NHS.
Last year over 100 schools took part- this year there will be more....
We will be doing our bit by asking everyone to wear something orange- not matter big or small on Friday 28th April. Donations will be voluntary.
International Women's Day is nearly upon us and the Power of Women Festival 2023 is here to celebrate!
We are excited to invite you and your family to the Power of Women Ellington Park Family Festival, 11am-4pm Saturday 11th March, FREE. This year's festival promises to be a fun-filled event with plenty of activities for all ages.
We will kick off the day with our annual procession taking the festival theme Joy and Celebration and we would love for you to join us!
This year we teamed up with Zoe Murphy @MargateGirl and her quilting squad to create beautiful celebration quilts in local community groups. The quilting squad made LOTS of quilts and we need your help to showcase these wonderful community works of art by parading them in the procession before they are donated to the special care baby unit at QEQM.
We will be meeting at 11am at Ellington Park Cafe for the procession at 11.30-11.50am. My colleague, Jemma Channing, will be managing the procession and will be able to help as needed. The procession will be led by Ramsgate Mayor Raushan Ara and Kent Roller Derby and local community groups.
Following the parade, there will be a range of exciting activities and entertainment throughout the day, including live music, birds of prey, hot food stall, dance and drama performances, games, ice-cream and birds of prey!
This event is a great opportunity for families to come together and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Ellington Park while taking part in a range of fun activities that champion gender equality and celebrate International Women's Month.
We encourage you to spread the word and invite your friends and family to join in the fun. Feel free to use the informational flyer attached to share with your network.
There are lots of varied events happening this week and throughout March from we'd love to see you at some of them! You can explore these events on our website.
Our festival opening ceremony is at Broadstairs Pavillion 6.30-10pm on Wednesday 8th March and there are still a few free tickets available.
Thank you for your support, we look forward to welcoming you and enjoying a month of celebration and community spirit!
We are still Outstanding!

Find out about all the exciting things happening at Cliftonville Primary and Pre-School this term to mark World Book Day and celebrate our love of reading.
Seasonal writing competition for the Christmas break. deadline 6th January.
On Friday, Pre-School were very excited to welcome their grown-ups into their classroom to share reading with them. Mrs Mayhew talked to the adults about the importance of reading with your children at home and gave some tips before sharing some of her favourite children’s authors. She then read “Flip Flop The Penguin Who Wanted To Fly” to the children who really enjoyed it. Even more excitingly, Mrs Mayhew then presented each child with their new Cliftonville Reading Record and their Book Trust pack which contained 2 free books and some fun activities. Parents then read with their children. Everyone had a lovely time and it has been great to see adults using the reading records at home with their children.
We were so proud of all the children and staff today as we opened our doors to over 100 prospective families looking for a place in year R next September. They really did give our visitors a real Cliftonville welcome!
