Monday 30th March
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I want to thank you for being supportive, sensible and heeding to the advice of keeping your children with you wherever possible; for keeping safe. I hope that you are all keeping well too. This last week has been a challenging one for everyone, but it makes it so much easier when we all work together and support each other.
We understand completely that this disruption to yourselves and the children will be difficult and as a consequence we are trying to continually update our home learning section of the website to help and support you with your childrens learning. There are, of course, the daily challenges as well as more formal types of learning activities. There are some useful materials in the SEND section that may help many of the children as well as local organisational contacts that may be able to support our community. Please have a browse around regularly as this is being continually updated. If you wish to speak to our parents support advisors please email PSA@cliftonville.kent.sch.uk and they will get back to you.
It has been absolutely wonderful to see what you all have been doing at home and this is an important way to keep our community together. Please do continue to send in your pictures to homelearning@cliftonville.kent.sch.uk, we love seeing them all and maybe every now and then staff will send some messages out too!
Using the Government backed voucher scheme, all our Free School Meal children continue to access their entitlement. As with any new system rolled out in just a few days, there were a couple of glitches, however all of these have now been ironed out and the system is working well.
The temporary move to Dane Court has gone well but we hope to be back to Cliftonville after Easter- more details of that to come. Thank you to Dane Court, the children have enjoyed being in a different space and the table tennis tables!
It is vital that we continue to look after each other and do as much as we can to socially distance and minimise risk. I would like to thank, on behalf of everyone in our school community, all school staff for their adaptability, resilience and commitment. They are truly all amazing.
Finally, I would like to thank parents once again for your kind thoughts and best wishes that have been sent in either by Facebook, by email or even face to face. They absolutely put a smile on everyones face!
Take care and keep safe.

Zoos across the country and the world are streaming video and pictures of their residents which include tigers, giraffes, elephants and pandas - and your kids will be able to watch them live.
Although lots of zoos already offered live-action cameras for people to watch, lots of others have joined in too, providing digital access to these fascinating creatures
You can enter the virtual gates on Facebook from 10am today (Friday, March 26) and for the first time ever, enjoy a whole day of animal antics live from your sofa.

Amazon today cancelled the subscription of books and audio stories for children and students of all ages as long as schools are closed, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.

Good morning to our pupils and parents. To help us all stay in touch whilst schools are closed we thought it would be lovely if you could email in pictures of what the children are up to in their home learning. The email address is homelearning@cliftonville.kent.sch.uk
We will also be putting on our facebook page and website a daily fun challenge for your children to do. Send us some pictures of their results! We will be featuring the photos on our facebook and website pages so if you do not want your child's face to appear but would like to get involved just take a picture of their activity.
If you are entitled to Free School Meals please note that the Government scheme will be rolled out imminently. We will provide further guidance and support at that point.
Many thanks your patience.
