Zones of Regulation- can help if children feel worried or anxious
In school we have been working with the children on a new way of understanding and expressing their emotions called the Zones of Regulation.
Children are encouraged to put their name card on the emotion they are feeling in the morning when they come into school and after break times.
Each Zone has a 'toolkit' to give the children suggestions of what to do to improve their feelings.
It is important to note that we do not say one emotion is better than another, just that we acknowledge what we are feeling and what we can do about that. Teachers and TA's would approach children at a quiet time to discuss how they are feeling and give support if required.
At this difficult time some children may be feeling anxious and worried. If you would like to make your own version of the Zones to use with your children at home you can find them here on our website:https://www.cliftonvilleprimary.co.uk/zones-of-regulation/
