Some of our children are acting as Language Ambassadors to help build first language supportive networks in our school community including helping new families to Cliftonville Primary and Pre-School.
We are very lucky, and so proud, of the children in our school who speak more than one language. We have families in our school who come from all over the world including Russia, Slovakia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Poland, Albania, Sweden, Barbados, Portugal, Romania, Latvia, Sudan, China, South America, the Phillipines, India, the Czech Republic, Greece and Vietnam.
This amazing diversity means that we can often offer children arriving from overseas a friend who can communicate with them and help them to settle into school life. Language Ambassadors have formed an integral part of the everyday lives of many pupils at Cliftonville Primary and Pre-School. Each year, children who demonstrate the right qualities, and who speak more than one language fluently, are selected to provide help and support to new pupils who arrive here with difficulties in speaking English.
Our Language Ambassadors for 2018 - 2019 can help with...
Tagalog, Latvian, Bengali, Slovak, Czech, Turkish, Greek, Polish, Chinese, Russian, Dari & Farsi Persian, Portuguese, and Lithuanian.
