School Games Mark: Silver Award July 2016
Cliftonville Primary School has been awarded the Silver School Games Mark award for our commitment, engagement and delivery of competitive school sport in 2015/2016. We are hugely proud of the children and staff...and parents who support in so many ways, including transport and cheering from the side on wet and windy tournament days!!
This is a wonderful achievement for all staff and children at the school who have trained and participated in a wide variety of competitions in school and across Thanet. A big thank you must go to Mr Holyer, Mrs Adams and Mr Kirby for organising these tournaments and who are spotted regularly around Thanet evenings and weekends with teams of children supporting and encouraging them to be the best that they can be.
Well done everyone!
In June 2015, Mrs Adams accompanied three Year 4 pupils who were finalists in the ‘Perfect Packed Lunch’ award held at the Turner Contemporary. Well done to Oliver Appleton, Hadia Sied and Alexis Garner for their winning entries. Schools from all over Kent were there and we were thrilled to find out that Oliver was one of the four main county winners. His work will be displayed at the Turner Gallery. Congratulations to them all.
We are very proud of all the Thanet, Kent and National Awards we have received. It shows that our school takes part in lots of activities and offers a fun and exciting curriculum. It also gives us all a chance to find something in which we can excel.
Some of the certificates recognise our commitment to helping the young people of Thanet by providing high-quality work experience places for our Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges. We are proud to be a part of developing the future workforce of Thanet....and beyond!
